The Summer Edit
A week before the summer solstice, we headed over to one of my favorite places in NYC to spend a sunny afternoon. Growing up in the city, the West 79th Street Boat Basin in Riverside Park was a quiet place to stroll or read a book, and dream about life on the water in one of the houseboats.
It was also the perfect place to shoot model Prune Cervantes, a fresh face from Paris, and show her what summer in NYC is all about! The Boat Basin is one of the most charming spots to catch a breeze off the Hudson River, and watch the world go by.
With so many different areas to explore, the marina was a stunning backdrop for photographer Jenny Edmunds to shoot our new summer Modern Essentials in hammered gold, and Classic Stone collection in lapis and rainbow colored gemstones. With each look we styled, Prune was every bit the sophisticated Parisian girl in living in NYC for the summer.
There was a lovely grassy spot for an impromptu picnic, and a wonderful old stone rotunda with winding steps. The Boat Basin Cafe inside the Rotunda has an old world nautical vibe for casual dining. It's also one the best spots in NYC to have a drink and watch the sunset.
